“I had never been on a cruise before (but I’ve always loved boats!) so when I got a call from P&O Cruises asking if I could go to Southampton to meet them about their new Superliner Ventura I was immediately interested.

They explained that Ventura would be the biggest ship they had ever built with over 3000 passengers and they needed me to design everything to go inside her from stem to stern! So..slightly in trepidation I set to work on everything from the cutlery, glassware, ceramics, silverware, kettles, tea pots, trays to the..loo brushes, even adding a signature glass sculpture to the atrium.

It was a really fabulous project and I loved travelling to Italy for the fit out process – even managing to rope my best friend Shane in to help erect the sculpture on board. I took the family on a 2 week cruise that Summer and needless to say we had the best holiday ever!” – Nick
